The Town of Highlands has a full-time life guard position open. This position will work directly with the Pool Director making sure that the pool is running smoothly. They will also be responsible for supervising the part time life guards. They will need to be able to show leadership and ensure the safety of the patrons at the Highlands Recreation Pool by preventing and responding to emergencies. This job will start at $15.68/hr. with full benefits, including health and dental insurance, along with retirement. Qualifications required are current certification in Life Guard Training, CPR and First Aid. They must also be able to demonstrate knowledge of rescue techniques, procedures, and equipment. The Town of Highlands is accepting applications for a Police Officer at the Highlands Police Department. Applicants must have a high school diploma/GED or greater, must have completed basic law enforcement training and possess a BLET certificate, a NC driver’s license, and have completed requirements established by the NC Justice Training and Standards Commission for certified law enforcement officers. Must be able to work a rotating shift, this includes days, nights and weekends. Salary based on experience up to $56,076.80 annually and employee benefits including 100% paid employee health insurance, 100% paid employee dental insurance and paid holidays to name a few.
